The Marketplace: 1965 Bond Equipe GTS
Bond might not be the most significant car-maker among those who built fibreglass cars in the 1960s like Lotus or TVR, nonetheless, they made a few interesting cars. Like this 1965 Bond Equipe GT4S, up for auction in the United Kingdom on 3 September, find it here. Based on a Triumph Herald chassis and packed with a 67hp 1147cc Triumph Spitfire engine it sounds like an amusing entry into 60s motoring. Not to mention affordable, as there will be plenty parts around might the British engineering play up at some point.Add a comment
50 years of the Jaguar E-Type - part 2
Sometime ago we posted the first post regarding the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type. Now we bumped into another promotional video from the sixties. This one was meant to lure in Americans into buying the 'most beautiful car in the world'. The film was produced by Jaguar Cars North America and is pretty stunning actually, it involves a round trip through Europe, going through glamorous Cote d'Azur towns in France, on to Austria, winding through romantic European scenery and ultimatily ending in the western countries of the USA. It's a mood-piece really, a very pleasant way of advertising; trying to lure people into buying your car without actually telling them they have to. No, they just point at the great features of the car, it's relaxed, it's elegant, it's the way advertising for a sports car should be; talking about fun. No excessive blagging about performance, why would you? You were not going to race the car on a road anyway. The blathering about prices, economy figures or safe-the-environment is not present. It's about the car, the experience, the travelling. The travelling in this advertising-documentary is done by a charming primrose yellow S1.5, which you will want to have after seeing this story. If you don't want to, then see part 2 of this film after the jump, perhaps you will have changed your mind by the end. If you haven't, you're propably a philistine!Add a comment
Spa 24 Hours 2011
Get a life. Buy my Porsche.
Normally we are always rather wary of photos and videos which feature cars and girls at the same time. As it can get rather cliche, you know the thing; the scantily clad girl standing in front of, or leaning (ass out), on a vulgar sports car (mostly some hideously tuned Japanese mongrel or of course the quintessential playboy car; a Lamborghini). All very nice of course, but not terribly interesting. So, how then do you make a video and photos which features a car and a woman that has some style and touches the cliche only slightly. Well, leave that some english guys trying to sell the car of one of them. And not just a car, but a 1985 Porsche Targa. Featuring; our favourite Porsche 911 shape, nice Fuchs alloys, lovely black leather interior, a huuuge rear wing and sensual red paint. We would almost forget about the girl featuring in it. Featuring; a slim body, nice long legs, lovely black leather shorts, a huuuge pair of sunglasses and sensual brown hair. Just watch the video further down this post by clicking 'read more'.Add a comment
50 years of the Jaguar E-Type - part 1
After Top Gear celebrated the E-Type so brilliantly in its first show of the new season today, we really could not not give our own little celebration. So take this video in, our first part of a series celebrating the Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag's 50th birthday. Deary gods it still looks so good, we wish it was 1961 again, we could've picked up a brand new shiny big cat at the factory, like the fellow in the video below.
